image

We have another transformer for you today, but a little less threatening this time.  The Doc Sofa / Bunk Bed by Bonbon Trading puts a new spin on sofa beds… a sofa that turns into bunk beds!  This is a true UPGRADE from a traditional futon.  Complete with a fold out ladder and safety rail it’s compact design means you wont have to pull it out from the wall like most futons.  Great space saver!    Aside for the beautiful design, and functionality, this convertible couch has the wow factor… a couch with gadget appeal!  You’ll find yourself breaking it out even for pop-ins, just to show it off.

I agree heather. Definitely cool but I wonder how easy it is to convert. I think their website says like 2 seconds or something. Thats hard to believe, plus it looks like you could loose a finger flipping that thing around!

  3. Really great use of space when your unable to get lots of furniture in a room. Nice

one of the cooler things ive seen..but $6800? com’on! thats a little much..

Anyone who could afford the price, wouldn’t require it’s utility. Rich folk seem to have enough space as it is. Great marketing team you have their folks. Maybe they should speak with the board about the cost. Perhaps this information could be relayed to the engineers.

Seems like its one of those pieces you find at a home convention, that is just fun to look at and admire. Bunk beds are really only used for kids, so why would a kid have a couch in his/her room? They are not going to convert it every night. I’m guessing it is for guests, but I don’t think they would appreciate sleeping on a bunk.

Its a fantastic design with a unfortunate price tag. I think that a bunk does serve utility in my city though. NYC is turning into an apartment haven, there is always a need for more space and rent rates are making more and more residents seek out room mates. I have a convertible futon myself it is honestly the coolest furniture item I’ve had the pleasure of spending 800 bucks on. That much said im sure this item’s ticket price will decline with time.

couldn’t you fall off the top bunk? there’s no railing on the left side.. that’s kind of dangerous

If I would have that much money for sofa, probably I would have enough money to get my self bigger place…

Hoang, I see what your saying. It seems silly to put only one railing, unless, they expect you are going to put it against a wall, which begs the question, why photo it in the middle of the room. This is a great concept and design. One that I would consider if the price dropped down under $2k.

average rent for a studio in Manhattan is $2000. Even at that price, there would be takers
