I know we’ve featured organizational devices for your electronics before, but it’s all about finding the shoe that fits. The Blue Lounge Sanctuary Charging Tray brought to you by Frontgate comes with 12 built in chargers that fit up to 50 brands! This is the lazy man’s dream. Like anyone I tend to switch electronics frequently, buy new gizmos, or lose my cell at the beginning of my two year contract and have to go back to my old crappy phone in the meantime. The Blue Lounge Sanctuary has already addressed all these issues. It also neatens up that rats nest of cords on your bedside table so you have more room for ammo and hatchets.

Upgrade: $600

Titan Luggage is a German engineered miracle of travel. The tag price might seem steep for a suitcase but the lifetime “No Matter What” warranty, it performs flawless performance in hectic travel conditions, amazing stylish looks, nearly scratch proof polycarbonate finish, and four wheel 360 degree pivot wheels make this handle like a mini-BMW.

We reviewed the 19” 360 Four Diamond Edition International Carry on for a whirl wind trip from Europe to South America (pretty much lived out of it for a month). A few key feature set this piece of luggage aside from anything we’ve come in contact with before.

First was the integrated TSA compliant locking mechanism that neatly snap the zippers into place. You supply the three digit code, the TSA officials can access the contents through the special keyhole, and you look slick without fumbling with those silly mini padlocks.

Next is the 4 wheel 360 degree roller system. This was probably the single most convenient feature on the suitcase. This allows the bag to stand up straight (no weight for you to hold up) while you glide the bag like Fred Astaire across the dance floor. No struggling down the airplane aisle and allows quick weaving through slow airport crowds. Simply throw your blazer on the telescoping handle while nudging your bag through the ticket line while the masses constantly wrestle their bags around the gates.

The incredible light weight construction also means less for you to lug into the overhead. However, every time you do throw this bad boy aloft you can rest easy knowing the hard case will slip into nearly all overhead compartments due to its specifically designed measurements.

Inside the 360 Four Diamond Edition has a waterproof toiletry bag, tri-fold garment bag that clips into place, a dirty laundry bag, and plenty of clipped and zippered storage space. We had a blast running around with the Titan handily by our side.

The Hightail down sleeping bag from North Face has been a dream come true for my winter hiking adventures. The bag is lightweight (important during winter climbs when gear weight can be excessive), goose-down filled (850+ Eastern European goose down fill; the lightest, most efficient down on the market), zippered foot access, rated to 15F (comfortable at this temperature), and extremely packable.

North Face has perfected the Trapezoidal Baffling system to lock the down fill in place and ensure cold spots stay warm.

“Expedition bags utilize two special structural configuration to ensure maximum warmth and comfort. First, the bags employ a special trapezoidal baffle system where adjacent trapezoid-shaped baffles are positioned so that their parallel sides are opposite one another. This configuration ensures a constant baffle volume, keeping down in place and preventing cold spots. Second, Expedition bags add a special box baffle in areas especially vulnerable to cold-the sides of the baf in the core torso area and footbox. These added baffles provide additional loft, ensure vital down stays out, and, consequently, offer added warmth.”

The greatest thing about the Sansa Clip is the mobility. You can literally clip this thing anywhere and rock out on the go. The Clip has a built in rechargeable battery that juices up through your USB port, there is voice record and radio abilities, it weighs in at less than an ounce and is a half inch thick. The display lets your scroll through albums, songs, artists, and stations. The FM mode lets you program 40 presets and even sync up with your gym’s TV sets. Of course there is also big sound from this tidbit of a player. Definitely a convenient machine. Oh, of course it jams up to 4G of your mp3s in its little body!

Originating in Turin Italy circa 1917 by photographer Guiseppe Ratti Persol, undergoing tests at altitude and desert conditions, and gaining a buzz in the high fashion and Hollywood circles, Persol has stood the test of time to say the least. With the Merflecto face fitting joint system built into the frame, crystal lenses scientifically perfected for all solar conditions, and the distinctive Persol Supreme Arrow hinge inspired by swords of ancient warriors no detail has been missed in Luxotticas crafty of this spectacular shades.

With the holiday travel crunch fast approaching (and with recent airfares dipping!) the Global Travel Jacket by National Geographic would be a perfect gift to a loved one or yourself. From top to tail this jacket was specifically built for everything travel throws at you. A brief rundown of the special features includes:

Wrinkle resistant

Teflon coated cotton shell (perfect for fog/light rain)

Leather elbow abrasion protectant pads

Built in in-pocket key lanyard

Headphone pockets built into the collar

14 pockets (inside, outside, various sizes, zipper, Velcro, hidden in seam)

Chest pocket ID clip

Detachable collar cinch for wind protection

We took this jacket around the globe (from Athens, Paris, Boston, to Lima) and fell in love.

The great thing about the Global Travel Jacket (aside from the myriad of practical and innovative features) is that you can travel in style and comfort. No one should look like a vulgar backpacker lowlife (even if you are!) while traipsing through the ruins of Machu Picchu or hittin’ on the ladies in Santorini.

The Global Travel Jacket could also double as your carry on with enough storage room to fit quite a number of necessities including passport, wallet, keys, camera, mp3 player, maps, money, even toiletries.

Guiseppe “Bepi” Zamberlan and his family have painstakingly perfected the hiking boot over the past 80 years. At first blush the 996 Vioz GT seems simple…brown leather, rubber, and laced up the front. What brings Zamberlan to the next level from other outdoor boot manufacturers is the synergy of components and engineering poured into their work.

From the durable Vibram soles with amazing purchase to the Gortex lining behind premium full-grain Hydrobloc Italian leather the Vioz GT brings the high-tech to a classic veneer. This highly prized piece of gear in the climbing community is not only a perfect addition to your outdoor equipment list but so comfortable (speaking from personal experience) you’ll find yourself around town with them strapped to your feet!

Some of the details of the 996 Vioz include a Active-Carbon Anatomic Footbed which is specially fitted to the Zamberlan boot and to the anatomy of the foot. Hydrobloc is another key aspect of Zamberlan technology. The uppers are constructed of “best quality leathers, tanned following a special treatment that enhances the water-repellence, resistance and durability.”

While in the backcountry you are only as capable as your feet. Comfortable feet means healthy feet, happy hikers, and a better experience. The Vibram sole used in the Vioz GT and all Zamberlan boots are designed to flex midsole where your foot naturally flexes. This reduces fatigue, cramping, and potential injury from poor fitting footwear. After wearing the 996 Vioz GT and practically smearing up rock faces in the White Mountains of New Hampshire it’s safe to say these are the sickest boots I’ve ever worn.

Straight from last seasons American Inventor comes the Gladiator GarageWorks Claw bike storage system. This is one of those geniusly simple ideas that makes you say "Why didn’t I think of that?!?!" Well you’re no genius… but if you have a bike that’s in the way you’d be smart to pick up one of these bad boys.

How it works: Mount it to your ceiling and the claw rests in the open position. When you want to get your bike up off the ground and out of the way, simply lift it up and push the tire against the round yellow pad. That triggers the claw to close and hold your bike. To get it down, same thing, push the bike up and depress the pad and viola… the claw magically releases your bike.
